Ethiopian Airlines Group marked the celebration of Eid al-Fitr with a humanitarian outreach program held on March 20 at Tesfa Birhan Feeding Center, Addis Ababa. The initiative reflects the airline’s broader commitment to community support, alongside its longstanding role as a key catalyst for socio-economic growth in Ethiopia and across Africa over the past eight decades.


Extending his Eid greetings to the gathering, Mr. Bekele Bayi Oda, Group Vice President Human Capital Management said: “At Ethiopian Airlines, we believe our role goes beyond air transport. Supporting communities through initiatives like today’s program at the Tesfa Birhan Feeding Center reflects our deep commitment to social responsibility. While we provide daily meals to over 12,000 individuals, we are equally committed to advancing education, improving access to healthcare, and addressing broader social challenges. Eid is a time of generosity and unity, and we are proud to stand with our communities during such meaningful occasions.”
Mr. Adefris Kora, CEO of Bole Sub City, expressed his gratitude to Ethiopian Airlines for joining hands with the City Administration in various humanitarian initiatives. Lauding the national flag carrier’s significant socio-economic contribution, he underscored his administration’s readiness to further strengthen cooperation with the pan-African airline to address key humanitarian needs.


As part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, through its charity wing, ET Foundation, Ethiopian Airlines is providing daily feeding support to vulnerable communities through several charity institutions including: Tesfa Birhan Feeding Center 2, Mother Teresa Missionaries of Charity and Mekedonia Charity Association. In addition to the feeding program, the airline extends its humanitarian support to education, healthcare, and other social development initiatives, reaching communities in need across the country.
Ethiopian Airlines reaffirmed that it will continue expanding its humanitarian and CSR programs, ensuring that its growth remains closely tied to positive social impact.
