Ethiopian Airlines Marks Easter with Community Support at Tesfa Birhan Feeding Center

Ethiopian Airlines Group, through its charity wing ET Foundation, celebrated Easter with a humanitarian outreach program held on 12 April 2026 at Tesfa Birhan Feeding Center No. 2 in Addis Ababa.

The event was attended by senior officials from Bole Sub-City Administration, including the Sub-City CEO, Mr. Adefris Kora, along with invited guests.

The Easter celebration reflects Ethiopian Airlines Group’s long‑standing commitment to community support, alongside its role as a key driver of socio‑economic development in Ethiopia and across Africa over the past 80 years.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Yohannes Bekele, Manager ET Foundation, highlighted the airline’s deep‑rooted CSR values.

“At Ethiopian Airlines Group, we are pleased to stand with the communities we serve. Today’s Easter celebration reflects our continued support to vulnerable citizens through daily feeding programs and special holiday engagements,” he said.

He noted that Tesfa Birhan Feeding Center No. 2—originally built by Ethiopian Airlines Group in collaboration with Bole Sub‑City and Addis Ababa City Administration—is a strong example of how the airline translates its values into meaningful action.

“As we celebrate Ethiopian Airlines Group’s 80th Anniversary, we reaffirm that supporting communities in education, health, humanitarian assistance, and social welfare has always been an integral part of our journey. Through ET Foundation, these efforts are now more structured and impactful, and we remain committed to strengthening our support by working closely with government institutions, charity organizations, and partners,” he added.

In his remarks, Ato Adefris Kora, CEO of Bole Sub‑City, expressed appreciation to Ethiopian Airlines Group for its continued collaboration with the City Administration in various humanitarian initiatives. He also reaffirmed the Sub‑City’s readiness to further strengthen its partnership with the national carrier to address key social and humanitarian needs.

On a similar note, and as part of the holiday celebration, ET Foundation donated 1,000 kg of flour and 500 liters of edible oil to 100 beneficiaries in Bole Sub‑City, in coordination with the Sub‑City Co‑operative Office. The support enabled economically disadvantaged households to celebrate the holiday with essential food supplies.

Beyond holiday support, ET Foundation continues to provide daily feeding assistance to vulnerable communities through several charity institutions, including Tesfa Birhan Feeding Center No. 2, Mother Teresa Missionaries of Charity, and Mekedonia Charity Association.

In addition to feeding programs, Ethiopian Airlines Group extends its humanitarian outreach to education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and social development initiatives, reaching communities in need across the country.

Ethiopian Airlines Group reaffirmed its commitment to expanding CSR and humanitarian programs, ensuring that the airline’s growth remains closely aligned with positive and lasting social impact.
